Masterflex Pilot - suction hoses made from recycled plastic

In Gelsenkirchen, Masterflex SE, the global market leader for high-tech hose systems, is launching a circular economy pilot project together with NESTRO Lufttechnik. For the first time, suction hoses made from fully recycled plastic material are being trialled in industrial use. The aim is to close the material loop and make the circular economy practicable.

The starting signal was given when NESTRO handed over a specially collected batch of used hose remnants to Masterflex. Masterflex produced prototypes from the recycled material; these were assessed at a joint meeting in mid-August - with a thoroughly positive conclusion. Both partners see future-oriented potential for everyday use in many industries.

The focus is on the strategy Hero@Zero - the change towards resource-neutral solutions along the circular economy. In the future, take-back services, recycling processes and eco-certifications are planned so that products and services form a closed loop in the future.
